William: Hello and welcome to On the Town. I'm William Kremer.
William, what's happening on April 29?
William: April 29? That's next Friday. Hmm. I don't know, Li.
Li: Oh well, you should know!

Michelle: What will you be doing on April 29th?
Woman: At home watching the royal wedding of course!
William: Ah it's the royal wedding!
Li: William, how could you forget?!
William: But how are British people planning to use their day off? Just now we heard Michelle speaking to a woman who said she would be "at home watching the royal wedding".

Michelle: And are you going to be watching it on telly as well?
Mother: Yeah, I shall be watching it on telly, yeah.
Michelle: Brilliant, and do you think that you might try and arrange a bit of a tea party or anything like that? Are you going to be doing anything special or just watching it?
Mother: We'll probably have a tea party won't we? There'll be only the two of us but we'll have a tea party I expect.

Mother
Daughter: Yeah.
Michelle: Maybe you can buy one of those Kate and Wills mugs or something like that?
Mother: Oh we'll have bunting. We like bunting.
Daughter: Yeah, we like bunting!
William: So mother and daughter are going to have a little tea party.
But Will, there was a tricky word in that clip. Bunting.

Mother: Oh we'll have bunting. We like bunting.
Daughter: Yeah, we like bunting!
Bunting. What a lot of bunting we will be seeing next week!
It's wonderful that all British people are so interested in the royal wedding!
William: Well Li, the truth is, not all British people are interested in the wedding. Let's listen to the next clip. Is this man a royalist?
Li: A royalist
Insert
Michelle: What will you be doing on April 29?
Man: To be honest, I'm not quite sure. I haven't got anything marked in my diary. Is there something I should be worried about?
Michelle: Think about it. What's happening?
Man: To be honest, I'm not too great, politically.
Michelle: I'm just going to tell you! It's Kate and William's day of their marriage!
Man: OK, well I'm not a royalist so to be honest I'm probably going to be sat at home watching TV. Not really too concerned about the future of the monarchy and to be honest it's just a wedding between two upper class people.
Li: 这位男子说,it's just a wedding between two upper class people 那只不过就是两个上层人之间的婚礼罢了。He's definitely not a royalist!

A local man
William: No, definitely not!
Let's just hear one more clip. What is this person planning to do during the royal wedding?

Man: I might actually be working there because I do a waitering job, so I might actually get a job waitering that I haven't confirmed yet. But that would be amazing, to actually work there.
Michelle: Oh my goodness, so you might be working at the royal wedding?
Man: Yeah, no, I actually might be yeah, which will be quite cool.
Michelle: Brilliant! So you'll be serving canapés to like Kate and Will...
Man: Champagne and stuff... yeah it'll be wicked. Really cool.
Woman [off] That'll be awesome!
Man: My grandma wants me to nick a piece of wedding cake... so I'll do my best!
Michelle: Do you think that you might meet some glamorous guests and stuff like that?
Man: Oh certainly, yeah! David Beckham's going isn't he? So that would be top of my list to see.
William: That man said he might be at the actual wedding, waitering.
William: Serving champagne and canapés.
Li: Canapés
William: And his grandmother has asked him to nick a piece of wedding cake!
David Beckham's going isn't he? So that would be top of my list to see.
A local man
Li: To nick something
William: But he just wants to see David Beckham.

Li: Yes. How about you, William?
William: Er, I'm going to be in Sicily.
I can see you are not much of a royalist, are you?
William: Well, I just wanted a holiday! But you're not much of a royalist either; you're going to be in China!
Bye for now.
William: Bye bye!
