　　Asians may prefer to feel jewellery before buying, but online store raremix.com hopes to change all that. Despite a low-key launch, singapore's first online jewe llery store has been doing a merry trade since its virt ual doors opened on July 24.

　　Called raremix.com, it is also Asia's first virtual jeweller.

　　More than 10,000 users form all over the world have registered with the website, which cost about $500,000 to set up.

　　Its products range from bangles(手镯)to chokers(短项链) to cuff links(袖口链扣) that incorporate a variety of mater ials such as rubber, leather and cloth.

　　Asians, in particular, sitll want to touch and feel their jewellery before buying. To alleviate(减轻)any anxi ety, raremix.com offers a fuss-free 10-day return polic y "with no questions asked".

　　It also offers a free cash-on-delivery service to c ater to the younger customers who do not own credit car ds yet. The affordable(可以支付的) price range of the produc ts also encourages surfers to try buying gems online wi th a lighter heart.

　　Apart from men and women's collection, the site als o features an auction(拍卖) section called "rarefinds", w hich features rare designs crafted from precious stones that are open to bids from surfers.

　　"we are looking at the world as our market. Asia, i n particular, is going to be a very bid market. Our cha llenge now is to transform our registered users to buye rs", said its chief executive officer Jimmy Leong.
