Woman dies in house full of cats

　　ALBUQUERQUE-Authorities investigating complaints of an overpowering stench coming from a house in New Mexic o found the body of an elderly woman and over 130 cats, most of them dead too, the albuquerque journal reported .

　　The body of hathleen morgan, 84, was discovered by a sheriff's deputy last Friday at her home in belen, ab out 30 miles south of albuquerque. A half inch of cat f eces covered the floors throughout the house.

　　Morgan appeared to have died two days earliers of h eart failure, offcials told the newspaper in Thursday's editions.

　　"there were over 130 cats in there, and probably th ree-quarters of them had died and were in various stage s of decomposition," said valencia country fire marshal john cherry.

　　Most of the surviving cats were ill and all of them were euthanized to prevent the spread of disease.

　　Neighbors told in vestigators they had seen three o r four cats in the yard occasionally but had not known that morgan kept so many pets so many pets in her home.
