Kursk Lt. Also wrote before voyage

The grim note he penned while his life ebbed in a w recked nuclear submarine was not the first time lt. Dmi try kolesnikov wrote of impending(即将来临的) death.

Kolesnjkov, an officer on the submarine kursk, wrot e his wife a mournful poerm in the days before he went on the ship's final voyage--which ended when it sank a ug. 12 in the barents sea.

"he left it at home; i don't know why," his wife ol ga said in a documentary made by norway's TV2.

"shortly before he went to sea, he wrote a poem to met that says" when the hour to die will come, although i try not to think about it, i would like to have time to say,'my darling i love you'," she said.

Excerpts of the documentary, which aired in norway earlier this month, were shown on russia's independent NTV channel, hours after russian naval officials said t hey had found a message written by kolesnikov as the cr ippled submarine lay on the sea floor.

The note was the first firm evidence that any sailo rs had survived the explosions the tore the kursk apart .

Officials quoted a few sentences that told how 23 s ailors had crowded into a compartment in the submarine' s stern(尾部) and were unable to escape. But they did not reveal a portion they said was more personal.
