Lennon glasses stolen

　　John Lennon is missing his glasses; not the man, of course, but the statue of the late rock hero and former Beatle that was unveiled recently in Havana, Cuba. The theft occurred Thursday (December 21), but wasn't made public until Saturday (December 23).

　　The glasses were not affixed to the statue, but Cub an officials said the replacement pair would be firmly attached, possibly even welded to the life-size bronze monument. They also plan to increase security around it . The statue was presented on December 8 as part of the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Lennon's assas sination in New York City; it depicts Lennon seated on a park bench.
