　　The Influence of the Internet on Interpersonal Communication

　　Interpersonal communication refers to the activities of face-to-face information and emotion communication among people. However, with the development of science and technology, the communication forms have becoming increasingly diversified, digitalized and public-oriented in the last decade。

　　The wide spread of internet access and the use of QQ, MSN, E-mail, blog, micro blog and some other emerging network communication platforms have exerted fundamental influence on interpersonal communication. These network platforms are capable of helping people get information more quickly and accurately, and they can also broaden people’s interpersonal circle. However, as everyone knows, everything has two sides. There are also negative points in these new types of interpersonal communication. For example, people may write blogs about their classmates or workmates around them, and these stories may be spread, thus influencing the relationships between people in reality. What’s more, if people spend too much time and effort on blog writing, they may have no chance and spirit to have face-to-face communications. Consequently, their ability to deal with people in life may decrease。

　　For me, though emerging network communication platforms can benefit us, they are only some ways of communication and will never take the place of face-to-face communication. Therefore, we should never neglect the effect of face-to-face contact in real life。

　　Nowadays, along with the rapid development of internet, a great change appears in the daily life of everyone. We rely upon the internet more than any time before. It even becomes our necessity for communication, especially for young people.

　　Various approaches can be used by us to surf on the internet for interpersonal communication, such as QQ, blog, MSN, email, and the like. It becomes so common to us that we cannot live without internet just as we cannot live without food and water. The influence of it can be reflected in several ways. First, internet can help us to make more friends because the communication becomes so convenient that we can connect with a friend overseas just in a few seconds. Second, internet may widen the emotional distance between people. We lose patience with the face-to-face contact with one another. A QQ message can replace everything need to be done by close contact. Third, lots of deceptious messages online captivate our eyes and make us feel confused.
