I was fascinated with clouds in the western sky this morning on my way to the office. All these clouds were changing rapidly. One section of my morning journey from home to office is open to the wide sky, not yet ruthlessly blocked by ugly skyscrapers and the overall cityscape. That's how I was fortunate enough to see the sky for a while.
High above me, there seemed to be two scenarios unfolding independent of each other. The major part of the sky was heavily occupied by blackish blocks of clouds. The whole structure looked like an aftermath of a huge blast. All the clouds radiated straight from the eastern across the highest point, and then arched down to the west. The blast seemed to be fixed for a moment. Only the northwestern part of the heaven was clear. The sunshine outside and beyond was shining brightly and revealing the outer space bluish and whitish with touches of light gold. It was a breathtaking view in a sharp contrast with the overwhelming junks of the darkish clouds in the other part of the sky. What is more, in the bright gap were some strange looking clouds in bright orange. They look like flying saucers moving steadily or hanging motionlessly. They were narrow, long, and flat, just like some thin sticks. The two ends of each stick were pointed and these ends made them look like flying saucers. But what clouds look like are always quite subjective, and in the eyes of viewers, right?
But alas, the view changed soon. When I reached that part of the city where high-rises blocked out the sky and when the sky was again darkened by the dominating black clouds, the gap in the northwestern sky was closed somewhat, and the saucers did not look like saucers any more. They were darkish and little bit ballooned, and some dark clouds invaded and partly covered them up.
And I was engulfed by the morning stream of bicycles and automobiles that were releasing all the exhaustion into the narrow space between buildings that flanked the streets. I was yearning for a bright spring day in a rural area with all the fuzzy green trees, birds chirping and cloudless blue sky so pure and so fascinating and so deep that it looks like one of my winter night dreams.
