Conversation A
Meg and Aaron are in Japan viewing the sakura.
Meg: It’s nice to be here to see all the blossoms in April. But . . .
Aaron: But what?
Meg: Wouldn’t June be better? Then we could eat all the delicious cherries that will grow on the trees!
Aaron: That would be nice, but it’s impossible. Japanese cherry trees don’t produce any fruit.
Meg: You mean, they’re just for show? That’s too bad.
Conversation B
Aaron: Well, the blossoms have several uses.
Meg: Like what?
Aaron: The Japanese save the blossoms, and use them in tea for special occasions.
Meg: Like weddings?
Aaron: Yes. I’ve heard the Japanese drink sakura tea in hope of giving the new couple a happy life.
Meg: I wonder how the sakura tea tastes?
Aaron: It must taste good and smell sweet.
