Royal cooks have hatched a new recipe to celebrate Britain's Queen Elizabeth's 50 year reign and replace a picnic favorite invented for her accession to the throne, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Jubilee Chicken——a cold-served dish of succulent chicken breast in a creme fraiche sauce spiced with lime, nutmeg, parsley and ginger——is aimed to take the place of Coronation Chicken as a staple of British picnics and sandwiches.
“It is supposed to be more successful than its predecessor because it is not so rich and less fattening,”the Daily Mail quoted a source as saying.
First public tastings of the new celebratory stomach filler are expected to take place during special public concerts at Buckingham Palace during the long Golden Jubilee weekend from June 1 to June 4.
