1） 体育运动、科学名称前不用冠词。
【例句】
I go in for playing football at leisure.We learn mathematics, politics and physics in high school.
2) 三餐、疾病前不用冠词。
【例句】
We usually have breakfast at seven. We have bread, milk, eggs and fruit.The sixtyyearold man got cancer, yet he didn't give up.3) 季节、月份、节日前不用冠词。
【例句】
September 10th is teachers' day. It is something important in fall.
4) 名词作表语或同位语表示头衔、职位时，不用冠词。
【例句】
He was appointed Prime Minister by the congress.Jack, monitor of the class, is quite a responsible and intelligent boy, whom all teachers think will have great prospect.
5) bed, hospital, church, class, college, university, school, court , prison, town 等名词与介词连用时，一般不用冠词。
【例句】
Three months in prison was all that Soapy wanted.It is high time that you went to bed.He used to go to school by bike. Now he goes to school by bus.
