Along with that more and more people own automobiles today; the automobile culture is rising up in China. The auto mobile owners and fans begin to have their own understanding toward automobile. Autos for them are no longer a kind of transportation tool. The auto giants in China evidently have understood this and begun to take advantage of it. Automobile Forum Beijing, the first corporate icon of the Volkswagensgroupsin China, was opened to the public on October 18, 2000 at a most central location, Shop AA50, the Beijing Oriental Plaza. The forum celebrated her second anniversary on October 24. More than two hundred guests attended the celebration, including some leaders from Shanghai Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen. The forum not only brings updated information on the development of the automobiles industry to Chinese visitors, but also provides them with a different, friendly and open environment. Through a variety of organized activities and multi-media portrayals, visitors can explore and experience car culture. Since its inception, the Automobile Forum Beijing has attracted a huge visitor-flow from Beijing and many parts of China, and has received high acclaims form the public. |
