City's exports surge in March |

Shanghai's exports hit a monthly record of US.42 billion in March, up 34.8 percent year-on-year, Shanghai Foreign Economic Relations and Trade Commission said yesterday. The city exported US.34 billion worth of goods in the first quarter, a jump of 38 percent from the same period of 2002. That's 4.5 percentage points higher than the average national growth. Goods exported from foreign-invested companies, accounting for 61.8 percent of the city's total exports, were valued at US.77 billion in the first quarter, up 42.1 percent from a year ago. |
