My friend Jane was in a taxi in New York City one day when the driver became embroiled in a battle of words,and nerves,with another cab driver who had cut in front of him.Unfortunately,the battle was taking place in the middle of New York City at dangerous speeds and with little regard for the passengers in each taxi.At one point,the two cabs stopped at a stop light and the driver from the other cab pulled a tire iron from under his seat and began to wave it wildly at the driver of Jane's taxi.Luckily for Jane,who sat in the back seat of the cab in a state of disbelieving horror,her driver turned down a side street and avoided an altercation.After driving a couple of blocks,he stopped the cab,slammed his fist against the dashboard and shouted to himself "It's not worth going back to prison for."
