TWO places in East China's Anhui Province, Tiantang Zhai and Tianzhu Mountain, make an unforgettable impression on visitors.

　　Travelling from Shanghai to Hefei and then to Liu'an, we arrived at sunset, at the gate of Tiantang Zhai (Heavenly Village). Looking around, we were surrounded by high mountains.

　　Before dinner, we decided to take a stroll. We found a pretty stream behind the local houses, with golden fields stretching away to the far distance. Some old trees decorated the fields and a dog's barking could be heard from far away. We felt lucky such beautiful scene could be recorded on camera.

　　After dinner, we sat on the ground before one of the local houses, drinking tea, chatting and laughing.

　　The most beautiful scenes were found up in the mountains. Waterfalls, fresh air, high trees and sunshine, it seemed like the very best "nature" has to offer.

　　We were unwilling to waste energy conquering the high peak. Instead we just chose a lovely place under a tree and had a picnic, enjoying the surroundings leisurely - far more sensible, surely?

　　Leaving Tiantang Zhai, we hiked up into Tianzhu Mountain. According to the famous writer Yu Qiuyu, the mountain is a lonely and isolated one. But maybe because of the famous essay, the mountain suddenly won a high reputation and attracted lots of tourists.

　　We set out eagerly to enjoy the perilous peaks and passages of the mountain.

　　Some of the paths are so narrow, were it not for the fence on both sides, it seemed it would only take a gust of wind to sweep people down the cliffs to certain doom.

　　But the scene there is extremely charming. You can see a green lake below, large fields in the distance and high peaks standing shoulder to shoulder.

　　Uplifted by the magnificent scenery, we lay on the path beside the lake. I will never forget that experience for the whole of my life. (Star News)
