Chelsea cruised into the group stage of the Champions League on Tuesday with most of its expensively assembled squad watching on the sidelines.

Teenage defenders Glen Johnson and Robert Huth and striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink scored as Chelsea beat MSK Zilina of Slovakia 3-0 for a 5-0 aggregate win.

Chelsea was joined by Deportivo de La Coruna, Sparta Prague and RSC Anderlecht after the second leg of the third round qualifiers. They'll join the winners of twelve qualifying matches, which was scheduled to be played yesterday, in today's draw for the Champions League proper.

Big-spending Chelsea signed up Inter Milan's Hernan Crespo at halftime. But most of the big-name signing this season, including Juan Sebastian Veron, Damien Duff and Adrian Mutu, watched from the sidelines as Chelsea already had a 2-0 first leg lead.

Johnson, 18, headed his first senior goal after 31 minutes. Jesper Gronkjaer earned a free kick when he was brought down Zilina's Vladimir Stas and Johnson took advantage of a poor clearance to headed the ball home.

Early in the second half, Geremi had the ball in the net after a corner, but the goal was disallowed because a freekick had already been awarded for a foul on the goalkeeper by Johnson.

Huth added the second, heading an Emmanuel Petit corner in the 67th minute soon after coming on as a substitute for Blues captain Marcel Desailly.

Hasselbaink, scored the third in the 78th minute controlling Geremi's through-ball to clip his shot past goalkeeper Branislav Rzeszoto.

In Spain, a 16th-minute goal by striker Albert Luque earned Deportivo de La Coruna a slender 1-0 win over Norway's Rosenborg.

Luque's match-winner, which gave Deportivo a 1-0 aggregate victory, came from a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area.

The victory means Deportivo has qualified for the Champions League group stages in each of the last four years, the same as its illustrious compatriot Real Madrid.

Czech champion Sparta Prague advanced to the main draw 5-4 on aggregate despite drawing 2-2 at home to Vardar Skopje.

Slavko Georgievski put the Macedonians ahead in the 30th minute when he tapped the ball in from close range, but former Manchester United star Karel Poborsky equalized four minutes later with a blast from 18 meters into the upper corner of Gogo Jovcev's goal.

Vardar's Nigerian defender Blessing Chinedu Anyanviu gave the Macedonian champion the lead again in the 67th minute with a deft shot from several meters out, before Libor Sionko made it 2-2 eight minutes from time with a head-er off a cross from Poborsky.

Anderlecht beat Wisla Krakow 1-0 in Poland to notch up a 4-1 aggregate win.

Striker Aruna Dindane scored the only goal. He broke loose on the left wing in the 85th minute, bypassing a Polish defender, and charged into the penalty area to send a powerful shot into the net by the right post.

The goal came after nearly a dozen missed opportunities by Anderlecht, mostly by Aruna, who easily dribbled past Wisla defenders but then shot wide and high.

German side Borussia Dortmund, the European champions just six years ago, was to host Belgian side Brugge yesterday with a 2-1 deficit. Lazio has a 3-1 lead over former two-time European champion Benfica in Portugal.
