NEW Balance, the running shoe maker, made its debut in China recently. It introduces Chinese consumers to a series of classics such as the "President's Running Shoes" (a great fitness shoe loaded with advanced science and technology), super durable hiking boots as well as its tailor-made New Balance children's shoes with a built-in correction function.

　　New Balance enjoys a reputation as "The World's number one running shoes" according to "runner's World", which is demonstrated by the availability of multi-widths, multi-height and a stabilization system that effectively cancels-out vibrations.

　　The inspiration for New Balance originally came from a small chicken. In 1906, the founder William Riley suddenly noticed that the chicken could keep its balance on only three claws when he observed it in the yard. The inspiration was then transferred to the design and development of arch supports, hence the name New Balance emerged.

　　In 1976, New Balance introduced its C-CAP, made of durable and highly vibration-preventive materials. In 1984, New Balance developed a new material for vibration reduction - "abzorb". This enhanced comfort and safety through vibration reduction by absorbing more than 90 per cent of the counterforce from the ground. In 1985, the "Encap 1300", focused on dispersing pressure, was introduced. Since then, many classic models have entered the market in rapid succession. (Star News)
