THE city government announced that 19 local hospitals have completed reconstructing their emergency departments with a total investment of 40 million yuan (US.819 million).

　　The emergency departments have been enlarged by 56.5 percent with better decoration and facilities. Since locals have long complained about poor conditions and overcrowding at big hospitals?emergency departments, the government launched the project in March after a spot check.
