China reported yesterday a case of bird flu in Tibet, the first case in the nation's Himalayan region.

The report raises the number of regions on China's mainland with confirmed or suspected cases to 16. China has reported no cases of the disease in humans. Also yesterday, China confirmed previously suspected cases in poultry in Hubei and Guangdong provinces, both of which already had confirmed cases.
