A bomb dropped by Japan during World War II was discovered at a port in Yantai in east China's Shandong Province, police sources said. Some workers who were unloading iron waste discovered the bomb at the harbor. Police rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. The 1.2-meter-long, 300-kilogram bomb was dropped by a Japanese plane during World War II, experts said. It is fortunate that the bomb has been discovered at the harbor, or it would have exploded in a furnace if it had been melted down as scrap. |
