Authorities in Hebei and Zhejiang provinces have seized 26 tons of suspected substandard milk powder and detained eight people involved.

　　In Tangshan, Hebei, authorities found 20 tons of milk powder at the Tianli Dairy Co suspected of faking trademarks of two Beijing dairy makers and a brand from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The company reportedly has manufactured 50 tons of substandard milk powder since last September, including 12.5 tons for infants, and sold it across the nation. The owner and seven others were detained. Zhejiang officials seized 6 tons of substandard milk powder.
