　　1. One can not learn a language well unless one studies hard.语言这个东西不是随便可以学好的，非下苦功不可。

　　2. Any literate person on the face of the globe is deprived if he (or she) doesn't know English.世界上任何有文化的人不懂英语他(她)将失去很多东西。

　　3. A foreign language is science. A foreign language is a weapon in the struggle of life.外语是科学。外语是人生斗争的一种武器。

　　4. Happiness must be through labour and struggle.幸福须以劳动与斗争换得。

　　5. Any intellectual discipline thrives in an academic atmosphere.任何智力的学科只有在学术的气氛中才能茁壮成长。

　　6. Science is accumulative body of knowledge about the natural world, abtained by the application of a special method, practised by the scientists.科学是科学家应用一种特殊的方法获取的有关自然界的一整套的知识。

　　7. Difficulties are like spring; your strength they will test. They are awesome to the weaklings, but submissive to the rest.困难像弹簧，看你强不强。你强它就弱，你弱它就强。

　　8. Remember that science requires the effort of lifetime. Even if you had two lives to give, it would still not be enough. Science demands of man's effort and complete devotion.
