At least 80 children in two kindergartens were poisoned after consuming milk powder yesterday morning in Guiyang, capital of southwestern China's Guizhou Province.

　　The poisoning took place at Shanhua Kindergarten and Jinjiang Huarui Kindergarten in the city's Wudang District, and the sickened children were quickly rushed to two hospitals, local authorities said.

　　"Most of the kids in our hospital are now in stable condition except some who lost too much body fluids due to repeated vomiting," said Jiang Wenyu, pediatrician at Guiyang Medical College Hospital, which took in 56 victims.

　　Shi jianyang, another pediatrician with Wudang People's Hospital, said 27 kindergarten pupils were admitted in his hospital.

　　The kids reported symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea and fever yesterday morning after consuming milk powder made by Guiyang City Shanhua Milk Industry Co.

　　The city government has suspended the sales of the suspect milk powder and ordered a recall of the powder from the market.
