A poisonous gas leak blamed on improperly dumped chemical waste sent more than 120 people to hospital by yesterday afternoon in rural Panjin, Liaoning Province. The victims included about 100 villagers and 10 policemen and medical workers.

　　A transport truck illegally dumped the chemical waste of a petroleum company in a pit at a small factory in Songjia Village on Monday night. Hydrogen sulfide leaked from the waste, local officials said. Most of the victims suffered nausea, vomiting and dizziness. The waste has been moved to a safe location.
