　　Ronald Reagan, president of the United States from 1981 to 1989, died on June 5th at age 93. He had been struggling with Alzheimer’s disease1 for ten years. More than 80,000 mourners2 visited the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California to pay their respects. The mourners included politicians, entertainers, and admirers from around the world. Reagan worked in radio, and later became a movie star. This experience served him well in politics. His eloquent3 speaking moved audiences, and earned him the nickname “the Great Communicator.” Reagan was a conservative4 who believed in maintaining a strong military. Most notably, his policies helped bring about the collapse5 of communism in the Soviet Union.
