　　当时吃冰淇淋最大的问题在于：要用什么容器盛装这道甜点。大部分小贩将冰淇淋装在叫作“一分舔”小玻璃杯中贩售(编者按：当时的人花一分钱买一小杯冰淇淋舔着吃)。不过消费者常打破或偷走装冰淇淋的玻璃杯，这让小贩们赔了不少钱。

　　冰淇淋甜筒的发明解决了这个问题。很多人认为甜筒是在1904年的圣路易世界博览会发明的。在该博览会中，卖冰淇淋和卖松饼的小贩将他们的产品结合起来，用卷成锥状的松饼来盛装冰淇淋，好让顾客外带享用。但根据历史记载，早在公元1888年就有人以可食用的容物来盛装冰淇淋了。

　　现今，从台北、突尼斯到多伦多，到处都有人吃冰淇淋。在大多数的地方，巧克力、草莓和香草是最畅销的口味。但在日本，冰淇淋的口味多得惊人。鸡翅、鳗鱼或是芥末冰淇淋，有没有人想尝尝看？
