Calling for Serious Learning |

As early as in 1939, late Chinese leader Mao Zedong drew the conclusion that the greatest concern of the Party is not bad economic and political situations, but its own capabilities. In an effort to relieve the “panic” about competence, the Party has always attached great importance to learning, while making unswerving efforts to improve itself. This is one of the keys that has led to the Party’s success. Today, the Party is faced with new challenges, as it has assumed long-term governance of China, and serves as a leading force in developing the country’s economy and opening it wider to the outside world. The just concluded plenum of the CPC Central Committee, which focused on improving the Party’s ruling capacities, is of strategic importance in the new period. It can be regarded as a reminder of the Party’s long tradition of ceaseless learning. The 65 million Party members, those in leading positions in particular, should all be on their toes. They must keep sharpening their competence by learning from practice. Only in this way can our Party become a qualified leader of the country. China Youth Daily |
