英语表示某地/某时有某物/某人时,常用There be... 结构,其句型为:

　　There be + 名词 + 介词 + 地点(时间).

　　There be的意思是"有",be是系动词,它要根据后面的单词的单、复数形式来决定是用is 还是are. There be 位于句子的开头,它的句型与其它句型一样,也有肯定句、否定句和疑问句的变化.下面让我们来看看There be...的用法.

　　一、There is接单数名词或不可数名词:

　　There is an English book on the desk.(肯定句) 在课桌上有一本英语书。

　　There isn't any milk in the cup.(否定句) 在杯子里没有牛奶。

　　Is there a pen in the pencil case?(疑问句) 在铅笔盒里有一支钢笔吗?

　　二、There are接复数名词:

　　There are many animals in the zoo.(肯定句) 在动物园里有许多动物。

　　There aren't any apples in the bag.(否定句) 在袋子里没有苹果。

　　Are there 31 days in this month?(疑问句) 在这个月有31天吗?

　　三、用There is还是用There are,应该看邻近主语,邻近主语是单数用There is;邻近主语是复数用There are:

　　There is a river and many trees near the house. 在房子附近有一条河和许多树。

　　There are many trees and a river near the house. 在房子附近有许多树和一条河。

　　四、How many + 复数名词 + are there?

　　How many days are there in a week? 一周有多少天?

　　五、How much + 不可数名词 + is there?

　　How much water is there in the bottle? 在瓶子里有多少水?
