  Situated in the Southern Pacific Ocean, East of Australia, New Zealand is divided into two main islands. Together these are comparable in size to Great Britain, Colorado or Japan. But with a population of only 3.8 million people, it is one of the world's least crowded countries.

  New Zealand is considered to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Its natural features include: mountains, lakes, coastlines, forests and rainforests. The outstanding natural scenery is the reason why New Zealand was chosen as the location for the filming of Lord of the Rings.

  New Zealand is very popular with tourists who go to take advantage of the pleasant climate and scenery. The country is also home to some of the world's rarest and most unusual wildlife, including the famous Kiwi Bird, which is only found in New Zealand.

It is named after the famous British explorer Captain Cook, who is credited with the discovery of New Zealand. Wellington lies at the Eastern end of the Cook Strait.

  Mount Ruapehu is on the North Island and reaches an impressive height of 9,175 feet (about 3,200 m). However, New Zealand's tallest mountain is Mount Cook, again after the famous explorer. Mount Cook is over 12,000 feet (over 4,000 m) high, and is found on the Southern Island.

  IV. Britain is an island kingdom off the northwest coast of Europe. Its official name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom has a land area of 240,000 square kilometers and a population of more than 55,000,000.
