More than US$8 million has been donated by corporations and individuals to fund President Bush's reinauguration ceremonies, according to the latest figures. The team handling the festivities announced that seven companies donated US$250,000, the maximum amount sought. Six are in the financial services industry: Corporate Capital LLC of New Orleans; Argent Mortgage Co of Orange, California; Ameriquest Capital Corp of Orange, California; Long Beach Acceptance Corp of Paramus, New Jersey; Town and Country Credit of Irvine, California; and Golden Eagle Industries Inc of Charlotte, North Carolina. Oil company ChevronTexaco Corp also contributed US$250,000. The committee said earlier that it planned to raise US$40 million to US$50 million for the inaugural events, scheduled for January 18-21.
