2007年10月18日 10:35 都市快报
During 1st-7th Oct. known as "Golden Week", Ms. Julie from South America on a business trip to Shanghai came to visit Hangzhou. She was quite impressed by the beauty of the West Lake, however, she was very upset about the filthy toilets at the scenic spots and restaurants. As a result, she decided not to drink and suffered all the way until she was back to the hotel. Seemingly tiny details like this can influence a tourist's choice of places to visit. To improve these details is to add value to the tourism. On 10th Oct. the General Planning of Hangzhou Tourism Development (2006-2020) was launched, aiming at leading the tourism in Hangzhou to the international market with emphases on details and environmentally friendly touring. Seven options to tour around the West Lake In the Planning, seven kinds of transportation will be designed for Hangzhou to attract tourists. In scenic spots like Linyin Temple, Lefeng Pagoda and Silk Museum, the traditional rickshaws will be prepared for tourists. The riders will be able to serve as bilingual guides at the same time. Around the West Lake, hot-air balloons will be set up for tourists to have a bird's eye-view of the lake. The boats in the lake will be more diversified. The existing motor-generated sightseeing boats will be decorated in traditional Chinese style. One or two dinning boats will be put into the lake for tourists to have meals on the lake. An on-the-water guest house will be built as well. Apart from that, more boats like sailing boats, fishing boats, rowing boats and self-control boats will be provided for tourists to choose from. Environmental friendly touring help to sooth the transportation stress Walking or cycling around the lake is not only environmental friendly but also can reduce the transportation stress in peak seasons. The route for hiking is designed to include Hubin Road, Baidi Causeway, Solitary Hill, Beishan Road, Sudi Causeway, Yanggongdi Causeway and Nanshan Road. For cycling, apart from the hiking route, there are more options like Beishan Road, Linyin Road to Meiling Road North, or Meiling Tunnel, Longjing Road, Hupao Road to Yuhuangshan Road, etc. Attract international tourists to the Grand Canal The section of the Grand Canal in Hangzhou will become another hot spot for international tourists after the West Lake. To the west of the Gongchenqiao Bridge and Xiaohe Street, the area will be development to Hangzhou style street, Antique Street, Musical Street, Grand Canal Assembly Hall and Women's Arts School. In the block next to Gongchenqiao Bridge, it will be developed as tourism facilities, such as post house style hotels, youth hostel or local water-village guest houses. Tissues and soaps will be provided in toilets In developed countries, details like a signboard or a toilet can display the care for the tourists. The Planning also has a special chapter regarding the improvement of public toilets in accordance to international standards and common practice. Tissues and hand-washing soaps will be provided in these public toilets to maintain the sanitizing and cleanliness.
