英语新闻：西湖十大景观票选结束(图)

　　On the opening ceremony of the 9th West Lake EXPO held on 28th Oct., Party Secretary Wang Guoping of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee disclosed the final public voting results of Top 10 West Lake Scenic Spots. This is the 3rd time in history for voting to be done for the Hangzhou Top 10 scenic spots.

　　Namely, they are: Zen Reflections in Linyin Temple(灵隐禅踪), Listening to Waves in Six-harmony Pagoda(六和听涛), Yuefei Memorial at the Cloud-lingering Peak(岳墓栖霞), Sunny and Rainy Lakeside(湖滨晴雨), King Qian's Temple(钱祠表忠), Wansong Institute(万松书缘), Yanggongdi Causeway(杨堤景行), Clouds and Water in Mount Santai(三台云水), Early Spring in Meiwu(梅坞春早), and Exploring Dreams in Beishan Street(北街梦寻).(Note: the translation of names is just for reference, official version will be announced soon)

　　This 3rd public voting movement was launched in Feb.07 to the end of Oct.07 with three stages of public recommendation, voting for scenic spots and voting for names of the scenic spots. This is also the 3rd public voting by Hangzhou citizens, after the voting for city brand and of the city logo design.

　　A total of 338,6000 people participated in this voting with around 297, 400 valid voting tickets, which achieved highest record in voting population, number of voting tickets, age range and region distribution, educational background, etc.

　　The voting also brings to reality the democratic concepts of returning the lake and the sceneries to the people. On the stage of voting for scenic spots, four popular scenic spots not included in the 145 entries were added to the voting list and as a result, the Six-harmony pagoda and Yuefei Memorial eventually enter the final Top 10.
