我们都知道pants的一般意思，但是，有些人有时可能搞不清楚pants在美国和英国的意思是不一样的：pants在美国是“裤子”trousers or shorts的意思(英国的裤子叫做trousers)；在英国是“内裤”an undergarment with two leg holes, covering the body from the waist or hips to the thighs的意思。

　　这里，pants显然不是裤子的意思，它作为形容词，意为：很烂，很逊，品质低劣的，垃圾般的。Anything that you think is rubbish you can say pants. 不仅如此，它还有比较级more pants以及最高级most pants哦！

　　再来看pants的感叹词用法，如：Pants! I've got a test at school tomorrow and I haven't done any work. 这句话的意思是：惨了！明天学校要考试，可我一点准备都没有。这里的pants是个感叹词，表达了失望、担心、沮丧的情绪，意为：惨了，糟了，完蛋了。

　　再来一段场景对话：

　　A: Oh no, I've forgotten my train pass--pants!

　　B: Oh no, I guess you'll have to buy a ticket today then。

　　A: Have you seen the news? The Madonna concerts have been cancelled!

　　B: Pants, I was really looking forward to that!

　　如果某件不好的事情发生了，你可以用pants来表达你胸中的不快或愤懑。就像咱们常说的“气死我了”，“太倒霉了”一样。

　　当动词用的pants应该只会发生在上高中的男同学身上。平时很要好但喜欢恶搞的同学可能会趁某位同学不注意的时候扯下他的裤子或者内裤，这位被整的同学就是He was pantsed。
