British Museum
British Museum

Tate Modern
Tate Modern

Cambridge
Cambridge

oxford
oxford

The University of Oxford is the oldest university in theEnglish-speaking world. It is first mentioned in 12th century records.Oxford's earliest colleges were University College (1249), Balliol(1263) and Merton (1264). These colleges were established at a timewhen Europeans were starting to translate the writings of Greekphilosophers. These writings challenged European ideology – inspiringscientific discoveries and advancements in the arts – as society beganseeing itself in a new way. These colleges at Oxford were supported bythe Church in hopes to reconcile Greek Philosophy and ChristianTheology。

Cambridge is best known as the home of the University ofCambridge, one of the world's premier universities. In 1209, studentsescaping from hostile townspeople in Oxford fled to Cambridge andformed a university there[4] The oldest college that still exists,Peterhouse, was founded in 1284. One of the most impressive buildingsin Cambridge, King's College Chapel, was begun in 1446 by King HenryVI. The project was completed in 1515 during the reign of King HenryVIII。

Lyme-Park
Lyme-Park

Lyme Park is a large estate located south of Disley, Cheshire,England. It consists of a mansion house surrounded by formal gardens,in a deer park in the Peak District National Park. The house is thelargest in Cheshire, and a Grade I listed building. The estate was granted to Sir Thomas Danyers in 1346 and passed to theLeghs of Lyme by marriage in 1388. It remained in the possession of theLegh family until 1946 when it was given to the National Trust. The house dates from the latter part of the 16th century. Modificationswere made to it in the 1720s by Giacomo Leoni, who retained some of theElizabethan features and added others, particularly the courtyard andthe south range. It is difficult to classify Leoni's work at Lyme, asit contains elements of both Palladian and Baroque styles.[5] Furthermodifications were made by Lewis Wyatt in the 19th century, especiallyto the interior. Formal gardens were created and developed in the late19th and early 20th centuries. The house, gardens and park have beenused as locations for filming and they are open to the public。

Roman Bath
Roman Bath

Bath
Bath

The city of Bath was first established as a spa resort with the Latin name, Aquae Sulis ("the waters of Sulis" 水神苏黎士) by the Romans in AD 43 although verbal tradition suggests that Bath was known before then. They built baths and a temple on the surrounding hills of Bath in the valley of the River Avon around hot springs, which are the only ones naturally occurring in the United Kingdom.

Edgar was crowned king of England at Bath Abbey in 973. Much later, it became popular as a spa resort during the Georgian era, which led to a major expansion that left a heritage of exemplary Georgian architecture crafted from Bath Stone. As City of Bath, the city became a World Heritage Site in 1987. The city has a variety of theatres, museums, and other cultural and sporting venues, which have helped to make it a major centre for tourism, with over one million staying visitors and 3.8 million day visitors to the city each year. The city has two universities and several schools and colleges. There is a large service sector, and growing information and communication technologies and creative industries, providing employment for the population of Bath and the surrounding area.
