　　The US president, Barack Obama, was today awarded the 2009Nobel peace prize “for his extraordinary efforts to strengtheninternational diplomacy and co-operation between peoples”。

　　美国总统奥巴马以“为加强国际外交和人民之间的合作所作的杰出贡献”获得09年诺贝尔和平奖。

　　The Nobel committee said “only rarely has aperson such as Obama captured the world’s attention and given hispeople hope for a better future”。

　　诺贝尔委员会称："世界上鲜有人具有奥巴马这样的全球感召力并让自己的人民对更美好的未来充满希望。"

　　Obama expressed surprise on winning the prize but said heaccepted the honor as a call to action for nations to confront thechallenges of the 21st century。

　　奥巴马本人表示对获奖一事感到惊讶，并把这一奖项看作是“对行动的呼吁”，并以此为契机和其他国家一起解决21世纪所面临的挑战。
