Vienna retains the top spot as the city with the world's best quality of living, according to the Mercer 2010 Quality of Living Survey May 26. Zurich and Geneva follow in second and third position respectively, while Baghdad remains at the bottom in the ranking. Three Chinese cities - Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai - performs up to bar with all three ranking before 120.

　　全球著名咨询机构美世公司26日公布了“2010年全球城市生活质量调查”报告：奥地利首都维也纳因其最佳生活质量连登榜首，苏黎世和日内瓦分列第二和第三，伊拉克首都巴格达垫底，中国城市位列中游，香港、上海、北京挤入前120位。

　　According to the survey, European and Oceanian cities continue to dominate amongst the top 10 cities which are Vienna, Zurich, Geneva, Vancouver, Auckland, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Bern and Sydney. As to Asia, Singapore remains the highest-ranking Asian city at 28, followed by Japanese cities Tokyo (40)， Kobe and Yokohama (both at 41)， Hong Kong (71)， Shanghai (98)， Beijing (114) and Bangkok (118). Baghdad, ranking 221, remains at the bottom of the list。

　　Mercer evaluates local living conditions in all the 420 cities it surveys worldwide. For 2010, the number of cites appearing in the yearly published ranking was increased from 215 to 221. Mercer conducts the ranking to help governments and multi-national companies compensate employees fairly when placing them on international assignments。

　　据了解，美世公司评估的国家高达420个，而2010年刊登出排名状况的国家从去年的215个涨到了221个。该公司每年一次的“城市生活质量调查”活动旨在帮助各国政府和跨国公司在劳动力输出时公平地给予补助。

　　The ranking is based on a point-scoring index, which sees Vienna score 108.6 and Baghdad 14.7. Living conditions are analyzed according to 39 factors, grouped in 10 categories: political and social environment, economic environment, socio-cultural environment, health and sanitation, schools and education, public services and transportation, recreation, consumer goods, housing and natural environment。

　　报告解释道，排名依据打分得出，其中维也纳最高，为108.6分，而巴格达仅有14.7分。而评分标准则依据39个方面，归为十大类：政治和社会环境、经济环境、社会文化环境、健康卫生体系、学校教育系统、公共福利及交通、休闲娱乐、生活消费品、住房以及自然环境。
