Looking at the slate rightnow, at least one thing becomes very clear: No new movie willpossibly make more money opening weekend than either of therereleases. It’s an interesting box office race this month, that’sfor sure. Let’s meet the competitors。 ‘The Words’《妙笔生花》 (Sept 7) 故事主线为布莱德利·库珀饰演的作家正处在事业高峰期，但一个神秘人物(杰瑞米·艾恩斯)的出现打乱了他的生活，他将要为偷窃别人创作成果而付出惨重代价。该片正在加拿大蒙特利尔热拍中。 A writer at the peak of his literary success discovers the steepprice he must pay for stealing another man’s work。 Although word is the movie itself is a bit underwhelming and notas smart as it thinks it is, allegedly the performances are great,and overall the film works enough to not be terrible. On its surface, “Troublewith the Curve” seems like a middle of the road not-”Moneyball”，starring a grumbly Clint Eastwood. While all of that actually maybe true, it also seems like it may not suck entirely, mostly due toAmy Adams and the frustratingly always-charming Justin Timberlake.Definitely a contender for this years “you laughed at it, then itgot nominated for Best Picture. Huh?!” spot, a la “The Blind Side”.Oh and no, that is *not* a Mumford and Sons song in the trailer,it’s American Idol winner Phil Phillips, who really did pick theright manufactured first single, didn’t he? ‘Won’t Back Down’《决不退缩》 (Sept28) Two determined mothers, one a teacher, look to transform theirchildren’s failing inner city school. Facing a powerful andentrenched bureaucracy, they risk everything to make a differencein the education and future of their children。 Drama drama inspirational snoozy snooze. AND it’s written anddirected by the dude who wrote and directed “Beastly”， so… getready, guys. It’s also supposedly supremely anti-union and isscreening at the Republican Convention this week, complete withguest panel speakers Jeb Bush and Condoleeza Rice. Um. Okay.Cool? ‘Arbitrage’《套利交易》 (Sept 14) 影片的主角是一个“避险基金”巨头，他拼命要完成与银行的一笔大交易，直到他的阴谋被揭穿，致命的错误让他陷入到未曾预想的麻烦之中。 A troubled hedge fund magnate desperate to complete the sale ofhis trading empire makes an error that forces him to turn to anunlikely person for help。 The movie that will revitalize Richard Gere’s career that alsostars indie darling Brit Marling and… yes please. This directorialdebut from Nicholas Jarecki is pulling a rocking 100% on RottenTomatoes right now, after a strong festival showing, mostly becauseof Gere’s performance, along with co-star Nate Parker, whom Varietynamed one of 2012′s Breakthrough Performers. Itsdirector has a pretty solid track record, having written “The Fastand the Furious” and “Training Day”， among others, and “End ofWatch” marks the first time the cop genre is experimenting with thefound footage style of cinematography and storytelling. Early buzzis positive, but then you see that “Magic Mike” dark spot of doomCody Horn is playing a police officer and it makes your stomachhurt a little bit. The show is hilarious and considering the filmbrought the entire TV creative team to the big screen, there’s noreason to suspect it won’t be just as high quality。 ‘Bachelorette’《未婚女子》 (Sept 7) 《未婚女子》讲述了三个死党被邀请当伴娘，而新娘正是她们在高中时称作“猪脸”的女孩。三位死党由克尔斯滕·邓斯特、丽兹·卡潘、凯西·威尔逊出演，詹姆斯·麦斯登、亚当·斯科特及凯尔·柏海莫分别扮演三位女星的男友。 Three friends are asked to be bridesmaids at a wedding of awoman they used to ridicule back in high school。 Although “Bachelorette”， written, directed and adapted from theplay by Leslye Headlund, received mixed reviews out of Sundance,many calling it a mean spirited version of “Bridesmaids”， don’t befrightened away. The film might be tonally confused at times, andfans of the play may baulk at its alternate, happier ending, butthe performances from Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, and in particulara fiery Kirsten Dunst, are worth the ride. Plus, supportingappearances from Rebel Wilson, James Marsden, Adam Scott, HayesMacArthur and Kyle Bornheimer certainly don’t hurt. This second film from sitcom star cumwriter/director Josh Radnor has received mostly positive responsefrom the festival circuit, and word on the street is Zac Efrongives a brief but memorable turn that should erase at least some ofthe damage done by his miserable performance in this year’s “TheLucky One。” While “Liberal Arts” may suffer from some modicum ofmanic pixie dreamgirl fatigue, if that manic pixie dreamgirl isplayed by Lizzie Olsen, can’t we look past it, just this once? ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark IMAX’《夺宝奇兵IMAX》 (Sept7) Archeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the USgovernment to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis。 Just so you’re aware. One week only. Get your tickets now. Butno really.
