　　The footage was captured by NHK and Discovery Channel with the help of Japan's National Science Museum. The giant squid was spotted at a depth of 630 meters using a submersible in July, some 15 kilometers east of Chichi Island in the north Pacific Ocean. The deep-sea creature was about three metres long。

　　But a squid specialist said he estimated it could be as long as eight meters including the squid's two long arms。

　　The giant squid, known as "Architeuthis" to scientists, is sometimes described as one of the last mysteries of the ocean and has been little explored。

　　据外媒报道，大王乌贼是乌贼中体型最大的一种，也是传说中的深海巨怪。近日，日本NHK电视台和美国探索频道首次拍摄到了大王乌贼在深海中游动的景象。

　　据报道，拍摄小组乘潜水器下潜到北太平洋630米的深海中，在那里拍摄到了这只长3米的大王乌贼。他们随后又跟踪乌贼下潜到水下900米，最终，这只大王乌贼消失在了人们的视野中。

　　这是世界上首次在深海拍摄到大王乌贼的动态影像。之前，在1965年，曾有一名捕鲸人称目睹一只大王乌贼和一头重40吨的抹香鲸在海中搏斗的景象。

　　大王乌贼是世界上体型最大的无脊椎动物之一，生活在深海，以鱼类为食。它经常要和潜入深海觅食的抹香鲸进行殊死搏斗，抹香鲸经常被弄得伤痕累累，不过在抹香鲸的胃里曾发现过大王乌贼的残骸。
