   Networking is one of the most common ways to get to know people and interact with them. So how do you connect with the people who are critical to the growth and success of your business in 2014?

  建立人际关系网是认识他人并与之互动的最普遍方式。那么2014年你应该怎么和那些对你事业发展和成功起关键作用的人打交道呢?

  Be Smart and Know Yourself

  认识自身,运用五步“聪明”法

  First and foremost, knowing yourself is key。

  首先,认识自身是关键。

  Making connections takes a well-thought-out plan, one that requires you to be SMART. In this case, you need to be:

  和人打交道需要一个深思熟虑的计划,这需要你遵照以下五个字母——"SMART"。也就是说,你得:

  Specific. You need a specific idea as to whom you want to connect with in 2014. Not everyone you meet will be beneficial。

  明确。你得明确地知道2014年你想和谁建立联系。不是你见的每一个人都对你有帮助。

  Measurable. For the people you want to develop relationships with you must know how often you keep in touch, share information and connect。

  精确。对于你想发展关系的人,你必须精确到多长时间打一次交道,多久分享一次信息以及多久联系一次。

  Actionable. Once you've determined the kind of connections you want, set actionable goals to reach them。

  付诸实施。一旦确定了打交道的方式,你就马上付诸实施吧。

  Realistic. Set realistic and achievable connection goals that reflect your potential and strengths。

  实际一点。树立一些切实可行的目标,这些目标应该反映你的潜力和实力。

  Timely. Every goal must have a time limit. Focus on a specific date, instead of using terms like "sometime soon" or "eventually."

  及时。每个目标都应该有一个时间限制。不要总说“很快”或“最终”,而应该标注一个明确的日期。

  The Connections You Need to Know

  This is the time to take your contacts database out and closely consider segmenting your list。

  First, cull your database for any outdated information。

  Next, rank your contacts and focus on those with those who already know, like and trust you。

  Further, segment this group of people according to the roles they'll play in your career, namely advocates, information providers and connectors。

  Now, your next step is to create a plan on how you will learn more about them and stay in helpful communication with them。
