据外媒报道，英语单词的发音一直是困扰学习者的一个难题，日前社交网站“reddit”就通过对数千名全球各地用户调查，总结出了最难发音的10个英语单词，其中“伍斯特郡”(地名)、“合唱团”、“松鼠”位列前三。

网友吐槽10大最难英语单词

　　据悉，“reddit”网站日前历时两周，收集了超过5000名用户的调查意见反馈，这些受访者来自世界各地。

　　“reddit”网站经统计梳理出了最难发音的10个英语单词，它们分别是：“伍斯特郡”(Worcestershire)、“合唱团”(Choir)、“松鼠”(Squirrel)、“海葵”(Anemone)、“地峡”(Isthmus)、“第六”(Sixth)、“企鹅”(Penguin)、“上校”(Colonel)、“耳鼻喉科”(Otorhinolaryngologist)和“农村的”(Rural)。

　　值得一提的是，“松鼠”和“农村的”这两个词的发音对于很多德国人来说都挑战，有不少德国网友表示完全不能发出准确的音，还有网友介绍说，“松鼠”这个单词曾是二战期间用于检测德国间谍的方法。

　　榜单上出现的其他的一些词，包括'brewery' 和'edited'，对一般英国人而言太简单了。其它的，包括'phenomenon 和'February'都是臭名昭著的绕口词，甚至对英国本土人而言。排名前十的最后两个单词是Derby，发音为’darby’(让外国人很困惑)，还有'heir'。

　　当然，试着去念不熟的单词，我们都会有很多很尴尬的过失。也许，没有比约翰·特拉沃尔塔在2014年的奥斯卡上的发音错误更丢人的，全世界的人都知道他把伊迪娜·门泽尔的名字念成了阿黛尔·达奇姆。我们也别忘了本尼迪克特·康伯巴奇，获得奥斯卡提名的英国著名演员，在2009年英国广播公司自然纪录片上把单词'penguin'读成了'peng-wing'。
