　　From his beginnings as classically trained Shakespearean actor and prolific performer in the Royal Shakespeare Company and the British National Theatre, to becoming the face of Jean Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor Xavier in the X-men films, Professor Sir Patrick Stewart has had a diverse and constantly evolving career, internationally respected for successfully bridging the gap between the theatrical world of the Shakespearean stage and Contemporary film and television。

　　Having grown up in the Kirklees area in West Yorkshire England, in 2003 returned to the area as the Chancellor of the University Huddersfield and Professor of Performing Arts, where he regularly teaches performance master classes. In addition he has also been integral in establishing The Refuge Research Scholarship that will provide funding for PHD study in the area of children and domestic violence, at the Centre for Applied Childhood Studies。
