　　奈维尔•布罗迪简介

　　布罗迪的实验设计风格融合了视觉和建筑学的元素。1981年他成为生活时尚杂志《The Face》的艺术总监。他为这个杂志设计了独特的印刷外观，并给杂志设计师和世界各地其他设计师带来革命性的启发。1986年他加入被誉为男性版时尚圣经的《Arena Magazine》杂志。

　　Neville’s experimental style mixed visual and architectural elements. In 1981 he became Art Director of the iconic street title The Face magazine, for which he designed a distinctive typographical appearance that inspired magazine designers and other designers worldwide. In 1986 Neville moved to men’s style and lifestyle magazine, Arena。

　　In April 1988 the V&A Museum held an exhibition of his work to accompany his first monograph, The Graphic Language of Neville Brody, which became the world’s best selling graphic design book。

　　In 1987 he founded his own London-based design practice, which was renamed Research Studios in 1994. Research Studios now has a presence in Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and New York. Research Studios is a unique network who works from a wide variety of design platforms for a diverse range of international clients. Key clients of Brody and his Research Studio network have included BBC, Sony Playstation, D&AD (London)， The Times (London)， Nike, and Dom Perignon。

　　In 2010 Brody was awarded a Special Commendation by Prince Philip for his Designers Prize alongside Vivienne Westwood, and was made a Fellow of the University of the Arts, London. His one-man show NB@GGG was held at the ggg gallery in Tokyo, and his Anti Design Festival in London attracted over 20,000 visitors and created much press debate over seven days in September that year。

　　In 2011 The Museum of Modern Art in New York selected Brody’s font Blur, from his extensive catalogue of unique typefaces, as part of its permanent design collection. Further to this the Royal College of Art in London appointed Brody as Dean of the Department for Visual Communications; he has been admitted to the Royal Society of Arts (Royal Designers) and was also honoured with the D&AD President's Award. Brody sits as chair on the D&AD Executive Board, BBC Online Creative Advisory Board and is a member of the Film Education Advisory Board to the DCMS. Current clients of Brody and his studio include LVMH, Disney, Yamaha, British Library, Thomson Reuters and Supreme with several arts and culture based organisations in the UK and Asia。

　　Neville’s talk will explore the idea of experimentation, a key theme throughout his works and during his education. In addition, he will talk about his involvement in the Beijing Design Week. Neville will also touch upon his forthcoming publication of ‘Fuse 1-20′, a celebration of 20 years of Research Studios internationally renowned platform for experimental design and typography。
