1。爆冷门
广大球迷烤鸭肯定也很想知道原本铁定会输的队，最后居然打赢了的这种爆冷门英语怎么说，我们会用upset形容这情况。很多同学会问Upset不是伤心的意思吗？是的，但还有另一个意思就是爆冷门。事先被看好的球队我们可以说favorite，不被看好的那方会被称为Underdog。
e.g。：
Team A put on an upset yesterday！ Even though team B is the favorite to win the game， it’s defeated by team A which is considered an underdog。
A队昨天爆冷赢了！尽管更多人会看好B队，但反而不被看好的A队取得比赛的胜利。
2。放鸽子
被放鸽子后整个人都不好了！用英语发泄一下好了！
放鸽子我们可以用‘stand sb up’一词表达：
e.g。：
I’m so mad that my best friend stood me up today。 好朋友放我鸽子好不开心。
或者我们也可以说 ‘bail on sb’
e.g。：
Don’t you dare to bail on me！ 不许放我鸽子！
3。无计可施
描述状况紧急，但已用尽所有可行的办法，实在无计可施的情况时我们可以用‘hands are tied’这词组来描述那迫切可无能的心态。
e.g。：
I really wish I could help， but my hands are tied。我真的希望我能帮上忙，但我实在无能为力。
但如果是形容放手一搏，依然情况危急的话，‘have one’s back against the wall’会更贴切。
e.g。：
If we don’t receive the necessary funding， we will have our back against the wall。再得不到必要的资金，我们的处境就会非常困难。
4。扫兴
每次开派对的时候总会有人临时不能来或提早走，很扫兴。我们把这样的人或事称为‘wet blanket’。
e.g。：
Your girlfriend is not coming again？ She’s such a wet blanket。你女朋友又不能来？她真的很扫兴。
另外我们也可以用‘bummer’来形容不愉快、很扫兴的经历。
e.g。：
I was looking forward to go hiking with friends， but the bad weather is a huge bummer。我很期待跟朋友们爬山，但坏天气实在扫兴。
5。结果内定
有关注美国大选的烤鸭们肯定会对川普（ Donald Trump）印象深刻。最近他不断抨击共和党有很多幕后操纵，阻碍他成为共和党的总统候选人。‘Rigged’就是他重复提到的一词。因此如果想表达‘结果内定’，这词很适合。
e.g。：
David outperformed Jake but still lost the game。 The competition is rigged！
大卫的表现比杰克好多但还是输了，结果肯定是内定的！
