　　someone is barking up the wrong tree 指某人找错对象。这个习语起源于19世纪的美国。当时的猎狗如果发现猎物，就会狂吠把猎物赶到树上，然后对着树根处叫，提醒猎人。当然，如果猎物不在那棵树上，自然就是狗吠错了树，白费了功夫。

　　于是人们就用bark up the wrong treeh指找错目标。
