记住：“tough cookie”不是“硬饼干”(图)

　　今天咱们来学习两个关于cookie的习语：

　　tough cookie

　　饼干是烘烤出来的甜点，看到“tough cookie”小伙伴可能会认为饼干烤的时间比较久，所以变得很硬。

　　但是如果有人用来形容自己或者是别人呢？就不能只看表面意思啦~

　　其实这个短语指的是A strong， determined person who is not easily intimidated， discouraged， or defeated。 “意志坚强的人”。

　　如果一个人能够处理困难的情况，你就可以说他是“one tough cookie”。

　　比如：

　　She had a difficult childhood， but she‘s a tough cookie。 I know she’ll be a success。

　　她的童年很不幸，但是她很顽强，我认为她一定会成功。

　　That‘s the way the cookie crumbles。

　　都是这样的；人生就是如此。

　　这句话在日常生活里很常用，如果一个人说That‘s the way the cookie crumbles。或That’s how the cookie crumbles。 TA其实是想表达即使事情发展不尽人意，也要学会接受现实。

　　比如：

　　You‘re not always on peak performance， but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles。

　　你不可能总是状态极佳，但这就是现实。

　　引申：

　　两个类似的表达：

　　That‘s the way the ball bounces。

　　That‘s the way it goes。

　　不管是哪种说法，

　　都流露都流露着人们的无奈。
