　　NMIT is a large government funded institution, providing a broad range of nationally accredited vocational education and training courses in the central and northern metropolitan regions of Melbourne. The course are offered at Advanced Diploma, Diploma and certificate levels in arts, Business, Earth Sciences, Building and Construction, Engineering and Tourism and Hospitality. NMIT also offers, in association with the University of Southern Queensland, combined Diploma/Degree courses in Information Technology, International trade and Marketing, which can be completed in three to three and a half years. Our ELICOS Centre offers intensive English language courses from elementary to advanced levels. Courses commence every five weeks.

　　NMIT provides a full range of services for international students, including free airport reception and accommodation placement, orientation program on arrival, and personal and career counseling. The institute's student services department provides a broad range of activities for international students, with opportunities to travel to places of interest around Australia, to become a member of a sporting or recreational club, or to enjoy a range of entertainment and other activities provided on campus throughout the academic year.
