　　Whitireia Community Polytechnic is a government-funded tertiary institution. Established in 1986, it is known for producing work-ready graduates in New Zealand and overseas.

　　The main campus is in Porirua, sitting at the edge of the scenic Porirua harbour. The campus is 20km north of Wellington City. The three satellite campuses are Kapiti, Wellington City and Auckland City.

　　Over 90 full-time programmes of study are available. Many programmes can be taken part-time and Whitireia also has short courses of community interest.

　　The programmes meet a wide range of educational and training needs with an emphasis on producing work-ready graduates. Most qualifications range from Certificate level to National Diploma. The School of Computing offers a three-year Bachelor degree in Information Technology, and the School of Nursing and Health Studies offers a Bachelor of Nursing and several post-graduate programmes.
