　　这到底是什么呀？

　　What in the world is that?

　　这个句中的“in the world”其实是一种加强语气的用法，可以解释成“究竟、到底”。当你遇到个不可思议的状况获或东西，你会说：What is that?

　　但光是如此无法表达出你的惊讶，此时你就可以加点料说：

　　What in the world is that?

　　“这到底是什么呀？”

　　这是属于比较文雅的加强语气.
