天津大学 李幸呈:The Great Help

  Honorable Judges, Ladies and Gentlemen,

As colorful flowers bloom in spring, as green leaves fade and fall in autumn, I have been growing up healthily and strongly.

Looking back on my personal experience, I owe what I am today to the various kinds of great help, which I have gotten from teachers, friends and even strangers.

Fifteen years ago, when I was still in primary school, the teacher in charge of the class helped me form a good habit. We all know that a good habit is half the success. I owe my habit of working diligently and carefully to her.

Five years ago, when I was busy preparing for the High School Entrance Examination, an unknown middle-aged lady helped me out at the very moment I experienced a heavy heatstroke on my way home. I owe my success in that exam to her.

And even two years ago, when I was trapped in the so-called black months before the College Entrance Examination, the cooks made sure that I enjoyed every meal and the housekeepers went to great lengths to ensure a quiet surrounding in the dormitory. Their consideration contributed to my success in passing the Examination.

Things have been going well, even after I've entered university. In case of the completion of my assignments and the organization of some activities, many a time I get up early or stay up late. My roommates support me warm-heartedly, even though I might unwillingly put them to some inconvenience.

In order to overcome difficulties in study, at times I have to turn to my friends. Usually they patiently analyze or explain problems with great pleasure, even though sometimes they should prepare for their own exams.

And to deal with the problems in varieties of activities, I learn to develop a team spirit in the English Association of my university. whenever I don't know how to do it, my tutor usually turns up in time and has a word with me, even though it often means that we discuss problems in his spare time when he is supposed to be taking care of his family.

I give my thanks to my roommates who create a peaceful living environment for me, to my friends who sweep away some obstacles on my studying road and to my tutors who light the lamps, which lead me to a higher mountain peak one after another.

In conclusion, I appreciate all those who have helped me from the bottom of my heart, I firmly believe that my personal development should be attributed to these great helpful people.
