EF英孚青少儿英语Gavin：让孩子成为更好的自己

　　由新浪教育主办的“新浪2019中国教师盛典暨第九届五星金牌教师评选颁奖典礼”在北京举行。在第35个教师节来临之际，教师盛典在金牌教师颁奖礼的基础上重磅升级，汇集众多国内知名教育家、校长、优秀教师、教育实践者倾情参与。

　　作为业内独具影响力的教师年度盛事，在过去八届活动中，新浪教育面向全国教师，挖掘出近万名执着教育、勇于创新、传递真知的典范，教育专家、机构大咖在本次活动有集体发声。

　　以下为EF英孚教育青少儿英语金牌名师Gavin Chi Lai Guo专访实录：

　　主持人：各位网友大家好，欢迎来到“中国教师盛典暨2019新浪五星金牌教师评选颁奖典礼”的活动现场。本时段我们邀请到了来自EF英孚青少儿英语的金牌名师代表Gavin，welcome！

　　Gavin： 大家好，我叫凯文。我来自加拿大，现在在深圳英孚教育机构工作。

　　Hello， my name is Gavin。 I’m from Canada and I work for EF in Shenzhen。

　　主持人：好的，凯文。你对五星级教师是如何定义的？

　　Great， Gavin。 How do you define a Five-Star Teacher？

　　Gavin：好的，五星级教师是指从其它优秀教师中脱颖而出的教师。所以，他们上课时会传递激情，孜孜不倦，将教师视为一项神圣的职业，而不是工作。并且，他们通过教育开启这个世界，首先，帮助学生成功掌握目标语言，其次，帮助他们成为最好的自己，最后，帮助学生通过教育实现梦想。我给你举个例子吧。比如，有位学生想成为英国的政客。首先，作为老师，我们的任务是帮助学生成功掌握英语，其次，教给他们正确的行为、态度，帮助他们成为了不起的人，最终帮助他们成为最好的自己。最后，综合所有行为、态度、所学知识，通过让他们接触政治，帮助他们实现自己的梦想。

　　A Five-Star Teacher is defined as a teacher who stands out from the other great ones。 They teach with passion。 They teach tirelessly。 They regard the teacher position as a calling， as a career， not as a job。 Also， they open the world through education by helping students develop their academic skills， by helping them become the best version of themselves and by helping them achieve their dreams through education。 For example， one student wants to become a successful politician in the UK。 First， the teacher helps the student develop his English ability and his attitude。 Then， he helps the student apply his academic skills and his attitude altogether to politics。

　　主持人：我觉得您就是一位五星级教师。

　　I think you are a Five-Star Teacher。

　　Gavin：非常感谢。

　　Thank you very much。

　　主持人：如何发展高素质的教学团队？

　　How do you develop a school team？

　　Gavin：好的，组建一个合格的优秀教育团队首先要让老师和其他团队成员了解教学目标，也就是首先帮助学生合理地掌握所学内容，让他们成为最好的自己，经过教育实现自己的梦想。一旦明确了这个目标，就要营造一种环境，帮助团队所有成员实现这个目标，同时确保我们支持老师的个人目标，因为作为团队的管理者，给到所有努力工作的老师以支持是非常重要的。最后，再营造氛围，鼓励提出反馈意见，帮助成员不断得到成长。

　　To develop a school team， we need to ensure， first of all， that all members of the team understand the goal of education which is to help the students develop their academic skills， to help them become the best version of themselves and to help them achieve their dreams through education。 Secondly， we need to build an environment which helps teachers achieve the team’s goal while ensuring we support their personal life。 Finally， we need to ensure that we nurture an environment that is opened to feedback and hungry for continuous development。

　　主持人：好的，最后一个问题。你认为“新浪金牌教师比赛”对教育行业有什么影响？

　　How does the SINA Star Competition contribute to the world of education？

　　Gavin：帮助了老师们提开教学技巧，因为他们在准备自己的演示课时都付出了110%的努力，以提高自己课堂的质量。我也去过那里，确实对我大有裨益。其次，帮助老师相互联系，通过这种方式，互帮互助，发展自身，意识到老师们对社会所产生的积极影响。

　　The SINA Star Competition helps teachers further develop their teaching ability by pushing themselves 110% for weeks in delivering their best demo lesson。 I‘ve experience that too， and it actually helped me a lot。 Also， it allows the teachers to connect with themselves。 Moreover， it helps teachers remind themselves about the positive impact that they are creating to develop our society。
