Steve Kean has taken over at Blackburn Rovers

Steve Kean was the first team coach at Blackburn Rovers until manager Sam Allardyce's reign 执教 at Ewood Park was ended 结束了 by the club's new owners early last week.

Now, Kean has stepped into the breach 充当临时代理人 as caretaker manager and would be "delighted" if the new owners want him to continue in this role.

It's been a tough first week for him, having to settle 只好接受 for 1 point after a 1-1 draw against West Ham at the weekend.

Rovers striker Jason Roberts damaged a hamstring and centre-back Christopher Samba was also forced off in the game.

To add to 增加 the many challenges Kean faces, teenage defender Phil Jones has to undergo surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee.

This litany of injuries 一连串的伤病 mean Blackburn were left "with a very offensive team with no holding midfielder, so I suppose a point, taking all that into consideration, is not too bad," Kean said.

In spite of all this, the interim boss remained upbeat when he spoke to reporters about the kind of management style he wants for Rovers:

"I like to be on the training ground. I've been… taking sessions for a lot of years [as coach with various football teams]. I would certainly be hands on, on the training ground… shaping the lads up."

There have been some concerns raised 引起关心 conabout the hands-off approach of the new Rovers owners, which Kean acknowledged but wasn't overly concerned about.

He said the new club Chair had been in contact 有联系过,有接触过 "wishing the lads all the best" and is hopeful for "a bit more contact" with his bosses to see what direction the club will take in the future.

Describing Blackburn as "a great club", it's quite clear Steve Kean doesn't see himself leaving Ewood Park any time soon.

"I've enjoyed my time here and I'd like to stay in some capacity," he said.
